Habitats and Life History
Habitats: Woodlands and forests (Wagner et al., 2001). Our records come from wet-mesic hardwood forests in the Coastal Plain, the habitat of Hydrangea barbara. In the Mountains, records come from cove forests, riparian forests, and high elevation forests, including northern hardwood and spruce-fir communities. Habitats used in the Piedmont are less certain.
