Comments: A very small, black firefly. The elytra are unmarked and the pronotum has a pair of small, ruby-red triangles; in L. atra, pink and yellow stripes occur, covering the entire dorsal surface of the pronotum with some individuals completely dark.
Total Length [body plus wings; excludes ovipositor]: 5-6 mm (Faust, 2017)
Structural Features: The antennae are flattened, as in atra, but are narrower.

Habitats: Moist, open deciduous and mixed forests (Faust, 2017)
Diet:
Observation Methods: Adults of this species are diurnal and do not flash. Like L. atra, they fly slowly and low to the ground (Faust, 2017)
